Joy BoX Foster Closet was created out of a deep desire to support and encourage foster families — not only with essential supplies, but with hope and community. After seven years working in child welfare, we’ve seen firsthand how quickly a placement can happen and how unprepared families can feel when a child arrives with little more than the clothes on their back.
As a former foster parent, our founder named Joy BoX in honor of her children’s initials (JBX), who were first fostered and then adopted. The name also reflects the joy they bring into her life and the joy we hope to share with every family touched by the foster care system.
Our mission is simple: to remind every child that they are seen, loved, and worthy — and to remind foster families that they are not alone. We provide clothing, essentials, and comfort items to help meet immediate needs during new placements and transitions.
In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about how you can get involved — whether that’s donating items, volunteering your time, or spreading the word. Together, we can make sure every family feels the love and support of their community.
